Aniseed is sweet and very aromatic, distinguished by its liquorice-like flavour. Add aniseed to sweet and savoury dishes including cakes, biscuits and sausages, burgers and roasts. Often used in Asian cooking, especially Chinese, and is one of the main ingredients in Chinese five spice. Use to flavour Chinese curries, sauces, soups and marinades.
